Aied Mohammed Alenezi (born November 14, 1990), who records under the mononym Arabique, is a Kuwaiti recording artist. He originally became known for his multiple features on one of the Middle East’s most renowned DJs, DJ Outlaw’s collaborative mix-tape series titled “The Middle East Invasion.”
Arabique started his career as a hip-hop/pop-lock dancer. His talented dance moves afforded him the opportunity to choreograph dances under the direction of graduates from Cambridge University and eventually leading to various solo R&B and choir performances, and the opportunity to work with several other talents such as actor Orlando Jones. Possessing a bright academic background Arabique received a full Kuwait Government Scholarship to the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he studied electrical engineering. Post-graduation, Arabique kick started his engineering career while also focusing on his passion for music.
With the success of his mixtape features, in January 2012, Arabique signed a recording contract with DJ Outlaw’s record label “Outlaw Productions”. Shortly after signing to Outlaw Productions, in February 2012, Arabique released a statement announcing that his first studio album, Limelight Thief, was set to be released mid-April 2012. After the release of the album and buzz it generated, Arabique started working on his next release, a mixtape titled “Lucid Dream”. The mixtape was released in May of 2013. Since then, he has been collaborating with various artists, building his reputation as an artist, and working on taking his music to the next level.
