An introduction to the art of songwriting at Malja Bahrain with Latin-folk musician, Gina Chavez.
Malja Bahrain commemorated its first year in Bahrain’s creative scene on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, with a multi-faceted all-day celebration.
The celebration featured the launch of Malja’s first art exhibition of 2016: Definition, curated by Ramah Alhusseini and features artists who have made their mark on Malja and the Bahraini art scene in the last year. Definition’s aim is to focus on exploring and amplifying each artist’s unique style. Click here for full info on the exhibition and the featured artists.
While inside the space was buzzing from the art launch, outside of Malja was a burst of urban culture, with the Bahraini b-boys cyphering to the hip-hop beats of Khalil Rasool, and a live graffiti session alongside them.
Around 6PM, the audiences were infused with the blues when Bahraini band Thesis took the stage. It was a night of art, music, and dance, reflecting back on Malja’s jam-packed 2015, and upcoming excitement.
