On April 6, 2017, musician Mohammed Murbati’s launched his first album: Winter Stories! The event saw Murbati discuss his album in an intimate setting and signing copies, along with a performance with different band members.
The winter-inspired instrumental album carries the listener between Middle-Eastern easy listening and dreamy jazz, and marks the debut of the Bahraini musician.
Mohammed Murbati was driven with a passion for music at early age. Being in the company of Mohamed Haddad throughout his life drove Murbati to start composing.
Mohammed composed music for short films and some Bahraini plays, in addition to having composed music for numerous poems for both Bahraini and non-Bahraini regional poets. His biggest collaboration to date was with Bahraini singer Huda Abdulla.
The musician is mostly interested in composing for cultural projects where fine arts, literature and theater coldie. He recently ran a music workshop for children in Salman’s Cultural Center in Manama.
Murbati is also a founding member of “Bayt Al-Thaqafa,” a group that works to present events and activities enriched by elite intellectual and artistic content.
